Bulk Scanning on Conveyor Belts

Measuring the material volume on a moving conveyor belt appears not to be a big deal since there are several products on the market and laser scanners have also been used for this purpose for years.

In contrast to most other products our system however is able to deal with dusty environments. It is also able to measure very dark material on fast belts. On top, it also measures the volume of the transported material very precisely with an error of less than 2%.

The extraction of process values like volume, position of the belt and the mass-center of the material on the belt helps to control the loading process. Beside these values the flow on the belt itself is analyzed to determine the material properties.

The laser scanner and the analysis software are very flexible. Therefore the systems can be used in a great variety of applications.
