3D-Measurement of dumps
For now more than one decade Syperion has been developing complex systems to measure the shape of dumps. For the use in surface lignite mining we are combining data of laser scanners, GPS/GNSS-receiver and other sensors to generate precise and reliable 3D-data of the dumps in real-time. This data can be used for process control and for evaluation and planning purposes.
The measuring system is designed for continuous operation of dynamic processes in a harsh environment on spreaders, excavators, stackers and reclaimers. For delivering reliably data of high accuracy even under rough mining-conditions we use numerous sensor information as well as extensive diagnosis functions
For different customers we have realized several ready-to-use systems including the visualization of the dumps with several views for nominal and actual data, the transmission of the process values towards a control systems and the processing of all information through a data base.
The animation shows an animated flight across a dump, the way it was measured in an open cast mine with our system.
The measured data cover a region of 500 × 600 m. The lateral measurement grid has a resolution of 1 × 1 m. The height values were measured with an accuracy of 0.1 m.
